Since 2016, we have been at the forefront of developing solutions that restore Black families in Minnesota, working to rebuild our strength and effectiveness in raising healthy children.
Our Mission
To strengthen the Black family unit and enhance the overall family life experience for the collective Black community.
Our Values
Family is a multi-generational connection between grandparents, parents, and children that transmit the best experiences of health, wisdom, heritage, and purpose.
Children are born with an innate value and deserves healthy functioning parents to support their growth into adulthood.
The birth experience starts with supported parents that can envision an experience that brings life into the world with intention, planning, and health.
Families are the vehicle from which identity and heritage is communicated and with family rituals and environment, children will grow with intact self-esteem and assurance themselves.
Our method of success
Black Families are successful in the community. BFB creates circles of family networks to strengthen family resilience.
Black Parents are effective when resources are provided. BFB provides coaching, workshops, and courses for family development.
Black Families are impacted by multi-contextual systemic injustices. BFB uses a family lens to evaluate and advocate for policies that impact Black families.
