Kowanna Powell-Anderson
Kowanna Powell Anderson is a community educator focused on making education and programs meaningful and valuable for participants, scholars, families, and partners.
Kowanna has over 23 years’ experience working in community serving youth, families, community organizations, and education institutions, directly in the roles as academic advisor, servant leader intern, workshop facilitator, student-engagement-coach, counselor, coordinator, program director, Ella Baker Trainer and minister. She is also the co-owner of a women- owned business, House of Bella Hair, Beauty, & Fashion, a lifestyle brand that promotes the power of sisterhood & entrepreneurship.
Kowanna is a skilled facilitator in the Art of Hosting and Harvesting Conversations that Matter.
She also has extensive experience as a facilitator and designer of inclusive action planning having been trained in Technology of Participation© facilitation methods. Kowanna has developed and implemented programming models for Minneapolis Public School, Woke Productions, K Freedom Schools Program, Saint Paul City School, Robbinsdale School District, Route 1, and Fashion With A Cause.
Kowanna enjoys spending time with her daughters and traveling. She is an avid reader and a true advocate for living a life fulfilled on purpose.
